Associate, Financial Controls Dec 26th 2012, 00:30 Location: Lagos Description: A non-bank financial institution incorporated in December 1987 to exploit the opportunities in the then newly liberalized financial markets seeks to recruit a highly skilled professional to fill this position.  Job Summary: The Associate will play a key role in maintaining efficient and effective operations of the finance function of V&T. Reporting to the CFO, the role will encompass all aspects of financial and management reporting in addition to regulatory reporting, financial analysis and project work. The role will also ensure the control environment remains 'fit for purpose' as the organisation grows, such that it remains robust, transparent and effective. This role will lead the day to day financial control duties of V&T. Responsibilities: Prepare monthly financial and management accounts with variance analysis and ensure the timely reporting of all financial information Provide input into the monthly forecast process by providing accurate flash results prior to the month end Prepare Statutory accounts together with appropriate working papers to a high degree of accuracy and timeliness and in accordance with IFRS Produce Regulatory returns in preparation for senior management review prior to submission to regulatory bodies Assist in the preparation of quarterly board papers to Board of Directors Ensuring all general ledger accounts are fully reconciled and substantiated Coordinate audit activities Update and maintain Fixed Asset Register Assist with  cash flow forecast and budgeting Payroll administration including preparation and remittances of PAYE & Staff Pension. Prepare, remit and maintain VAT & WHT schedules. Supervise the preparation and input of all monthly journals into system. Develop and manage direct staff Execute day to day accounting Reports to the CFO Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of B.Sc. in Accounting Certification in ACCA, ACA, ICAN with strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP At least 1 -3 years post qualified experience working within the finance function desirable Experience of producing management reporting, deemed essential Highly numerate with strong analytical and organisational skills and high attention to detail essential Sound knowledge of Excel, Power point and automated financial reporting and accounting systems (knowledge of SAGE accounting software will be an advantage) Internal Audit Experience  Good people, time-management and multi-tasking skills Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently  If you are qualified for this position, Send your CV to 7cb2@jbng.me or click http://www.jobberman.com/job/181922/associate-financial-controls-in-lagos/ to apply
