| Cook/Chef Jan 31st 2013, 14:40 Location: Nassarawa Description: A hospitality organization located in Nassarawa needs the services of a skilled candidate to fill this position.
Responsibilities: - Request stock / Items for preparation from manager
- Prepares perishables for full shift
- Cook the exact number of items ordered by cashiers for special orders.
- Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared.
- Pre-cook items such as rice, in order to prepare them for later use.
- Prepare foods such as beans, dodo, moin-moin etc. following recipe that usually requires longer preparation time.
- Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
- Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases.
- Order and take delivery of supplies from manager.
- Baking pies
- Roasting chicken
- Schedule activities and equipment use with managers, using information about daily sales forecast to help coordinate cooking quantities.
- Assist in pre-preparing items i.e. marinated chicken, scotch eggs for storage and later use
- Maintain production register on products prepared for sale and passed to the sales point
- Assist manager in portioning ingredients according to recipe
- Assist manager in portioning direct cooked items i.e. chips to weight
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Clean kitchen equipment, storage area's and cold rooms
Qualifications and Requirements: - Minimum of O' Level Certificate (SSCE)
- At least 0 - 2 years working experience in hospitality industry
- Must have good knowledge of cocktail
- Must be able to read and write very effectively
- Must be able to speak in English fluently
- Ability to work under minimum or no supervision
