We are a global logistics company looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager for the West Africa zone including the countries of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Togo
Depending on experience, the salary range (full package) is between 6, 000 000 and 10, 000 000 NGN.
Overall Responsibility
Provide marketing, PR, communications, sponsorship and branding support to countries, including ensuring all materials are brand-compliant and that campaigns are rolled out effectively
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Togo
Public Relations
Manage the PR planning process for each country i.e. identify their monthly story and opportunities and ensure implementation
Manage the distribution of 'central' stories provided by the SSA office to ensure they are distributed in the various countries
Keep an updated list of stories from the zone, available whenever requested
Manage the zone media list, ensuring it is updated and correct
Provide guidance for all PR activities i.e. assist in putting together a press release, a strategy around an event/story, briefing photographers
Identify and institute PR training - both internal (message houses, tips) and external
Manage local PR agency (if relevant) including strategy, implementation and reporting
Ensure coverage is reported each month by each country - i.e. # of clippings, scans and information, and meets the deadline provided
Advertising
Manage any advertising opportunities for the zone - i.e. any opportunities sent to them and then, if worthwhile, escalated to SSA Office
Manage any requests for adaptations and local artwork, to be escalated and briefed to SSA Office
Ensure successful implementation of all campaigns (i.e. ExpressEasy, TradeLane) within markets
Ensure adequate levels of giveaways and marcomms materials are available in countries and, if not available, assist in acquiring or requesting these
Work with other units (Pricing, Sales) to ensure successful implementation of all campaigns and opportunities
Branding
Ensure all marketing materials align to the guidelines (this also includes having a good knowledge of the guidelines and understanding what does/doesn't conform)
Ensure all branding in countries (vehicles, signage) conforms to guidelines and, if not, assist countries to get in line
Sponsorship, Conferences & Events
Manage any sponsorship opportunities for the zone - i.e. any opportunities sent to them and then, if worthwhile, escalated to SSA Office
If identified, manage sponsorship and events on the ground i.e. ensure materials and giveaways are in order, branding is correct, photographers briefed, PR and collateral is written and distributed
Internal Communications
Edit stories from the zone to be distributed in Connect in Brief and the DHL Weekly every Wednesday
Distribute important information (ops updates, crisis communication) to all internal audiences
Corporate Social Responsibility
Interface with the relevant CSR contact in each market to ensure CSR activities (GVD, WED and quarterly CSR activity) are well-executed (i.e. take place, photography done, the activity reported on, media information distributed and a story written for internal audiences)
Administration
Provide a monthly update on issues/concerns in the various markets
Maintain a local video and image library so that any requests for images, artwork, video can be facilitated at zone level
Keep an up to date contact list for markets incl Country Managers, Commercial Staff that need to be engaged on specific activities
Schedule monthly calls with the zone and/or Country Managers to discuss Marcomms activities for that month
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism and/or Public Relations At least five years' public relations experience At least two years' management experience Very strong writing skills (press releases, feature articles, opinion editorials) Broad based exposure to all skills areas including presentation, media relations, advertising, internal communications, graphic design, sponsorship and CSR

Ability to make decisions under emergency operating conditions to solve problems and protect rig crew, rig and well.
Manage Drilling and Completion contracts by ensuring that the right set of tools are called-off from the appropriate contract without exceeding the ceiling value and the contract validity.
Ability to review detailed and executable Drilling / Completion /Work-over program with the aim of optimising the programs and making objective contributions.
Assist contractor to setup a robust PMS, procurement strategy and / or identify + foster relationship with key OEMs/OEM-agents (local & overseas.
Ensure smooth start up of new rigs (either swamp and land) by coordinating inspection and ensuring follow-up of the punch list and/or the refurbishment the case may be. Ensure reasonable up-time of older rigs.
In charge of full rig acceptance in compliance with industry & international standards and Ensure rigs or contractor has the minimum stock of spare parts required and as per contract.
Follow-up of rig & rig crew performance: HSE, timelines, NPTs, personnel qualifications (Mechanic, Electrician and TP).
Ability to monitor drilling engineering parameters to support drilling operations.
Coaching, development and supervision of younger engineers.
Desired Skills & Experience
Any Engineering Degree, (MBA added advantage)
Minimum of 10yrs experience in drilling & Completions (at least 6 of which in managing rig operations from the office.)

Ensure drilling waste is efficiently managed according to regulatory requirements and the drill-sites are returned the natural environmental state post drilling activity.
Provide detailed scope of work for all Drilling, Completion and Workover service contracts.
Manage Drilling and Completion contracts by ensuring that the right set of tools are called-off from the appropriate contract without exceeding the ceiling value and the contract validity.
Conduct DWOP, CWOP, WWOP & AAR meetings for all wells scheduled in the Technical Work Program and ensure that comments from these meetings are fed back into the future drilling and completion programs.
Make valuable contributions to and review well proposals from the Asset Development.
Prepare detailed and executable Drilling / Completion /Work-over program. And timely delivery of the End Of Well Report two weeks after well is completed.
Ensure strict adherence to management of change procedure and report any deviations to the program and/or non-planned events are captured in details.
Ability to prepare AFE cost estimates and analysis. Track / control the actual well cost on daily basis to ensure all well related cost are captured based on the planned AFE.
Perform post analyses for benchmarking and learning, identification and implementation of appropriate new technologies.
Coaching, development and supervision of younger engineers.

Job Description
Coordinate Health, Safety, Security and Environment related activities in drilling, completion and workover operations.
Monitor rig crews for Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) compliance to Seplat standards, rules, procedures, policies and best practices.
Develop and Monitor drilling and completion operations annual HSSE plan and verify implementation of the plan.
Review/Develop where necessary contractors' work method statement, JHA, HSSE plans, Bridging document, emergency response plan, HSE MS, HSE Cases, work procedures etc.
Observe, Correct and Report unsafe acts/condition, trend and follow up to closeout.
Facilitate and participate in operational, HSSE, Kickoff meetings/workshops between contractors and Drilling + Completion department.
Advise D + C management and rig crews on HSSE standards, procedures, best practices etc.
Facilitate and participate in inspections, audits (internal & external) and Management Field Inspection (MFI) as in annual HSSE plan. Follow-up to ensure close out of action items.
Plan, facilitate and participate in emergency response drills.
Liaise between D + C, JV, Government regulatory agencies and contractors on HSSE matters.
Participate in safety studies, risk analysis, assurance and verification of the technical design of safety systems and functions.
Review existing ERP and ensure effective levels of emergency readiness are established and tested on a regular basis.
Collate HSE data from all rigs in operation including well intervention/rigless operations and issue as a weekly report
Provide HSSE support for all activities associated with drilling, completion, workover operations and ensure regular inspection visits are made to project facilities and sites both swamp and onshore.
Review drilling/workover contractors HSE management system and produce a bridging document between contractor and client.
Facilitate and Conduct awareness training on HSSE topics to rig crews to close any gap observed.
Report incidents, facilitate and participate in initial incident investigation and cascade learning from incident.
Provide technical safety support through all maturation phases of drilling and completion projects as well as during mobilization processes of new rigs.
Facilitate and participate in technical studies e.g. DWOP, WWOP, HAZID, HAZOP, HRA, IA etc
Perform other corporate HSE duties as assigned by supervisor.
