DESCRIPTION:
Tranzit.NG is a web and mobile taxi booking service operating from Lagos Nigeria with alliances with Major Taxi companies. We are looking to employ CSRs.

CSRs are the first point of contact for customers (users) who would like to know the progress of their bookings, log complaints, request receipts, and make bookings or general enquiries.

CSRs are also the keepers of all relevant operations information as it pertains to passengers and drivers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Individuals in this role will work with a team of customer service representatives, assisting customers with bookings and enquiries related to the services of Tranzit.NG.

.     Champions team-working, re-use, knowledge sharing and promotes the increased use of Shared Services capability

Qualifications et experience

The ideal candidate will have the following profile/attributes:

.    A degree in engineering, telecommunications or equivalent. Professional experience in the areas of Data Centre Operations Management and IT infrastructure as well as knowledge of ITIL.
.    Currently Data Centre Managed Services or Service Delivery Manager in the IT infrastructure or telecoms business in Nigeria.
.      Minimum 8 years' experience.
.      Leading a Managed Services team in a similar business.
.      Must possess demonstrable and measurable success in a similar role in a challenging environment.
.     Strong client focus - ability to operate at prime customer contact level typically at senior manager/director level
.     Demonstrates a breadth and depth of operational service delivery management expertise, preferably in an international environment
.     Demonstrable experience of having designed and implemented significant productivity as well as customer satisfaction improvements
.     Strong development focus - advocate of developing employees, teams and the business
.     Significant experience of leading and managing teams (including matrix management) within an operational service delivery or shared services environment
.     Strong commercial and financial awareness, monitoring, co-ordination and budget ownership
.     Experience in outsourcing bids, from pre-sales to successful implementation, preferably including in an international setting
.     Thorough understanding of customer's business and market sector and able to use that knowledge to anticipate how future services offers need to evolve to meet customer requirements

As part of its current country strategy 2012-15, VSO Nigeria works with poor and marginalized young men and women in an integrated way and to shape our responses based on the needs and priorities they identify. We relate to youth as both ultimate beneficiaries, as well as our key facilitators of social change. We focus on children (boys and girls), adolescent girls and boys (10-19 years range) and young men and women (20- 35 years).

Summary of the Role

VSO Nigeria is currently looking for a dynamic, proactive and results oriented persons to join the Nigeria Country Office team to coordinate programme activities in 2 clusters. S/he is responsible for programme and project development in line with the country strategy and development and management of partnerships with civil society and government organisations with support of national
and international volunteers; involves proactive engagement with volunteers, partners and relevant stakeholders to realise our strategic objectives relating to education, secure livelihoods and youth participation in governance. S/he ensures gender mainstreaming in all our work, and will be the primary contact for the selection and placement of volunteers with partners in the cluster. The positions will be based in Lagos and Abuja and will report to the Head of Programs.

Key responsibilities include:

. Programme Delivery: Identification and mapping of civil society organizations (NGOs, CBOs, NGO/CBO Networks) that could contribute to delivering VSO Nigeria country strategy in the respective states and develop partnerships with organizations that are aligned to our vision, values and strategy. Analyse development challenges keeping the youth as central and explore opportunities for development.

. Partnership Development and Management: Develop coordination mechanisms between partners (NGO and government), volunteers and staff to develop shared understanding and vision of VSO Nigeria work in the cluster. Engaging and building relationship with key stakeholders (government departments - NYSC and other parastatals, INGOs, Donors and Corporate bodies operating in the cluster.

. Volunteer Engagement/Management: Identify volunteer requirements to deliver the programme/projects developed (International volunteers, corporate volunteers, diaspora volunteers, National volunteers and community level volunteers to be placed with partners). Develop placement documentation to facilitate recruitment of volunteers. Work with the operations team to induct, orient and provide on-going support to volunteers including safety and emergencies.

. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement strong M & E systems for the projects/partners/volunteers to ensure that the impact of VSO Nigeria work is captured as well as promote institutional learning and knowledge sharing across the organization. Ensure the documentation of success stories/challenges for knowledge sharing and organizational learning.

. Safety, Security and Emergencies: With support of SMT members be responsible for duty of care and safety and security of volunteers in the cluster and act as first point of contact for volunteers in the cluster.

. Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop realistic project plans and budgets, ensuring compliance with donor requirements. Develop, maintain and regularly review financial plans to deliver programme objectives including full participation in the annual budget preparation process.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Essential:

. Passion and commitment to make significant impact on the lives of marginalised young men and women in Nigeria

. Excellent understanding of development challenges and in depth knowledge of civil society organisations in the respective cluster/ Nigeria

. Understanding of project cycle management tools and ability to effectively plan, implement and review programmes; Skills in program/project development and proposal writing ; Knowledge of budgeting and financial management in the context of project planning/management

. Significant experience in a similar role with other INGOs/National NGOs, projects and programs and good track record of contributing to significant impact on the marginalised

. Experience working on projects and programs relating to education, livelihoods and governance, youth participation peace building etc.

. Excellent oral and written communication skills and analytical skills; Excellent planning and organizational skills.

. Ability to adapt to new and demanding situations and work independently or with limited supervision.

. Experience in networking, partnership development and multi stakeholder stake holder engagement for a common purpose.

. Willingness to travel extensively with in the cluster often using public transport

Desired-

. Practical experience gained within a volunteering/NGO context and of managing a volunteer programme.

DFID Nigeria is responsible for managing the British Government's contribution to development in Nigeria, with the objective of supporting government and development partners at federal and state levels to reduce poverty to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Background

Social Development adviser, Northern Nigeria office, Kano
This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, dynamic, experienced and committed Nigerian professional to become Social Development Adviser based in Kano, with frequent travel to Abuja and across the North.

She/he will promote gender equality and women's empowerment, social inclusion, voice and accountability and poverty reduction. She/he will ensure DFID Nigeria's work is informed by the realities of poor people's lives.

She/he will play a key role in building strong relationships and influencing key actors in Kano and Northern states across a wide range of programmes and policy issues.
More specifically, the post holder will:

1.       Provide social development (SD) advice and analysis for DFID programmes in Northern Nigeria in Governance, Growth, Health, Education, Nutrition, Water & Sanitation, Empowerment and Accountability and Gender Equality.

2.       Play a leading role in generating and coordinating policy, data and evidence on social development issues in the North - particularly poverty and gender.

3.       Support implementation and monitoring of key programmes with a focus on health programmes - Maternal and Child Care Health and Women for Health and Child Development Grants (CDG); empowerment and accountability through the State Voice and Accountability Programme (Savi), Mobilising for Development ( M4D).

4.       Actively support DFID Nigeria's big push on results for girls and women providing implementation support for DFID Nigeria's Gender Strategy within the Northern Nigeria Team, as well as the Voices for Change programme. Develop an effective working relationship with Girlhub to promote adolescent girls' empowerment.

5.       Lead coordination and coherence of DFID Nigeria's work on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG).

6.       Support mainstreaming of core social development agendas into DFID Northern Nigeria strategy, strategic discussion papers, analysis, results framework and six monthly reviews. Support DFID's broader SD agenda and the work of the SD cadre.

7.       Effectively influence the approach of Government officials, development partners, civil society and general public through developing effective relationships and representing DFID at high level policy and programme discussions in Northern Nigeria.

8.       Help drive forward DFID policy and programme objectives in Kano State including on results, influencing, programme coordination and policy analysis working closely with the DFID Kano state representative.

9.       Contribute to DFID Nigeria and DFID Northern Nigeria Office Management on corporate requirements for correspondence, briefings, reporting, preparations for high level visits, communications and core agendas e.g. Value for Money and Results.
Reporting line: The post holder will be a member of DFID Northern Nigeria Office, Kano, and the Governance and Social Development (GSD) Team in Abuja. She/he will jointly report to Deputy Head of DFID Northern Nigeria and the Senior Social Development Adviser in Abuja. At least 70% time will be spent on core SD agendas and up to 30% on broader Northern Nigeria team objectives.

Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate is expected to have the following qualifications, technical competencies and behavioural competencies.

Qualifications:

a. Minimum of a Masters level qualification from an internationally recognised University in Gender, Social Development or related Social Policy field.
b. Significant proven practical experience of providing social development advice to programmes and policy with development partners or service providers is essential
c. Experience of design, management budgets and results' delivery of SD development programmes.
d. Proven cultural, social and political sensitivity of working in Northern Nigeria, including with girls and women, with a good working knowledge of Hausa.

Technical competencies:

Primary competencies

1.       Experience of conducting social and political analysis and applying it to policy and programmes in Nigeria is essential

2.       Understanding and application of poverty, vulnerability and exclusion to inform programmes and policy in Nigeria is essential.

3.       Proven track record of understanding of the local context and influencing change is essential Specialist competencies

4.       Ability to demonstrate a degree of specialist knowledge and results in at least one of the core areas: gender equality and women's and girls' empowerment; empowerment and accountability; social protection and cash transfers

Applied knowledge and skills

1.       Ability to demonstrate the application of primary and specialist competencies to at least one of the following wider DFID development priorities:- delivering the MDGs; governance, justice and security; growth and private sector development; conflict and peace building

Behavioural Competencies:

1.       Make effective decisions: break down and simplify complex data, policy documents and similar information on social development issues; assess and interpret information to identify main issues and to inform non-technical colleagues.

3.       Lead and Communicate: communicate clearly both orally and in writing, using appropriate language; communicate on a range of issues to diverse internal and external audiences.

4.       Collaborate and Partner: excellent team player; work effectively with government, development partner, civil society and private sector stakeholders, including traditional and religious leaders; build good relationships for partnership, implementation, and support for DFID Programmes.

5.       See the bigger picture: develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of how the role fits and supports organisational objectives and wider public needs. Scan the political context and take account of wider impacts to develop long term implementation strategies that maximise opportunities and minimise risks.

Remuneration: DFID offers a competitive salary and benefit package. The current salary for this position (graded A2L) full time per annum is between N9, 479,244 and N20,508,178.00 inclusive of local taxes. DFID policy is that new recruits start at the scale minimum but an exceptional candidate maybe offered a higher salary and benefits package, with proportionate increase in the stretch of the job description.
