ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE   
As a key member of the GE Africa HR Operations team, the West & East Africa HR Operations Manager will provide strategic and tactical leadership within a shared services environment. The position will drive operational excellence and provide HR shared services to GE businesses within the sub regions, with a focus on compliance to GE policies and local legislation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Strategic Leadership -
Increase scope/market coverage of shared services across all GE businesses and countries within the sub regions.
Ensure that the HR Operations team, structures, processes and systems are aligned to deliver key objectives efficiently and effectively.
Drive strong simplification agenda online with global enterprise standards.
Ensure that all HR Operations costs are aligned to and do not exceed the approved annual operating plan/budget.
Operational & Service Excellence -
Lead HR Operations services: on-boarding, off boarding, employee and HR life cycle changes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all services.
Ensure all employee benefits are administered efficiently and in accordance with the relevant policies.
Coordinate with functional partners and third party suppliers to deliver on local benefits.
In partnership with the Payroll Leader, ensure that payroll is processed in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain document management/retention standards and practices, inclusive of personnel files as per GE policies and country legislation.
Create a continuous improvement service culture, proactively identifying processes for improvement and driving change with a view to responding to business requirements and supporting business growth. Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
Monitor operational performance metrics, identify and act on any trends or problems to maintain and improve performance levels for assigned process.

Compliance & Controllership -
Ensure compliance to all internal and local legislative requirements.
Drive compliance within processes and ensure process controls are in place as appropriate.

People Management & Development -
Ensure that the HR Operations team is appropriately aligned and relevant skills are in place to deliver on organizational goals.
Champion training and induction for new HR Ops team members and role changes, identify training needs, develop training plans, coordinate training and induction activities.
Ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities and are performance managed accordingly.
Drive and enhance employee engagement.

Relationship Management -
Ensure that customer requirements are delivered within the agreed SLAs and timelines.
Manage the relationship between GE and 3rd party suppliers/vendors to ensure excellent service delivery to all customers.
Maintain knowledge of operating environment and liaise with key stakeholders (HR Managers, Business Leaders, and COE Leaders) to keep a- of business activities/needs in an effort to identify opportunities to support business needs.
Develop strong working relationship with the HR community, ensuring effective communication and early identification of requirements and service issues, including follow up on complaints.
Measure end customer satisfaction, develop action plan to mitigate any operational risks or to resolve escalated issues.
Qualifications/Requirements    Relevant university degree / related qualification.
People management experience in a matrixed and service orientated operational environment.
Knowledge of West and East Africa labour regulations.
Strong track record of building, leading & developing a high-performing team through engaged and passionate leadership.
Process improvement mind-set, understanding of key operational processes.
Proven record of operational metric management skills, to include analysis, identifying trends, making timely decisions and taking appropriate action along the way.
Budget & resource management skills.
Cultural awareness & sensitivity: ability to flex style to suit differing cultural norms.
Demonstrated organizational skills, high standard of accuracy, an attention to detail, and excellent follow-up skills.
Proficient IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Ability to anticipate and resolve challenges.
Effective interpersonal & influencing skills; proven ability to develop and maintain team and client relationships, both in immediate and remote contexts.
Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.
Demonstrated project ownership and accountability.
Fluency in local language and English, with professional verbal & written communication skills.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS   
Green belt six sigma certification or other quality certification.

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE   
The Senior Compliance Officer will have responsibilities for assisting the Chief Compliance Officer in driving and integrating the compliance agenda across GE in Sub-Saharan Africa and partnering with the compliance community across GE businesses and other regional Compliance Leaders. In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills such that (subject to excellent performance in this role) they would be well placed to succeed the CCO in the fullness of time

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES   
The Senior Compliance Officer for GE Africa will report to Jeff Stitt, CCO GE Africa. This role is an integral part of the GGO Compliance team and will be responsible for developing and monitoring the GE Compliance program and agenda across the region. The leader will take the lead role in identifying and assessing the key compliance risks across the region and driving a mitigation plan to address those risks, as well as leading/managing the investigation response efforts & training across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
1.Risk Assessment: Ensure rigorous programs to identify, manage and abate the company's key risks, including:
-Improper Payments: drive rigorous process on third party diligence and monitoring, gifts and entertainment, business commission monitoring;
-JV's, Mergers & Acquisitions: ensure the right processes exist to support compliance priorities for negotiation, diligence and integration of acquisitions and joint ventures; and
-Collect and report on information about risk areas: e.g., early warning system, metrics & testing.
2.Investigation Response: Assume the lead role for the Spirit & Letter response program in the region, including ownership for investigations, ensuring a vibrant rhythm exists to engage leaders on integrity at all levels and establishing a world-class culture of compliance. Including leading investigations in country / region and manage the network of distributed investigators
3.Team Development: Assist CCO in developing and building Compliance team in region, including full-time, and part time resources.
4.Training: Implement a strategy that results in effective annual employee training, including for new hires, training for leaders, and training for employees whose job responsibilities require specialized training on top risks. Design and execute on a robust communication program to promote employee awareness about their obligations for integrity.
5.Follow-up: Implement a process to track, follow-up, and report on key initiatives identified by COR, GE's PCRB, GE Africa's CRB, and investigations

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS   
1. University graduate
2. Prior experience with Improper Payment prevention programs, establishment and operation of corporate ethics/compliance programs
3. 10+ years' experience in related areas (compliance, legal, audit, etc) with strong performance
4. Investigation & Open Reporting experience (or equivalent)
5. Ability & willingness to travel up to 50% of time

2. Active bar or law society membership (preferred)
