Job Title: Developer / Support Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the in-house software development and design, website design and support, creation of special report using third party reporting tools, like crystal report.
  • Create efficient, scalable, reusable middle tier logic using any of ASP. NET, VB. NET, C# and other languages as needed.
  • Create intuitive, logical and dynamic user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Create and design databases, views, stored procedures, SQL statements and user defined functions in SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 and Oracle
  • Manage Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2013 Server, IIS, COM+ and MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 with regards to administration and performance tuning..
  • Develop and administer plug-ins to the monitoring tools to render critical reports for decision making
  • Assess, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and develop maintenance procedures
  • Review code for potential performance issues, reusability, and/or anomalies.
  • Detail unit testing of code, Troubleshoot client problems both remotely and onsite.
  • Research and identify cause of reported defects and issues
  • Develop patches and defect fixes.
  • Perform and assist with quality assurance activities as needed.
  • Participate in training and/ or customer support activities as needed.

Requirements
  • Minimum of BSc or HND Computer Science, Electrical Electronic, Computer Engineering, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in similar industry
  • Experience using typed datasets is critical.
  • Programming and development skill in CH. ASP. net, VB. Net, PHP, MSSQL, Web design and Sharepoint, with a good understanding of Microsoft line of products.

Job overview:
This role is responsible for all aspects of security and safety of employees at onsite as well as associated off site security requirements for employees. The Security and HSE Manager will be responsible to ensure a safe and secure work environment for employees, customers and visitors, and also ensure that our business locations across the country are environmentally secure. Successful candidate will also be responsible for effectively using resources, both human as well as company assets towards carrying out day to day duties and assignments.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for providing a safe and secure working environment for all employees, customers, contractors and visitors
  • Responsible for interacting with various law enforcing agencies like police, EFCC etc. on behalf of the firm and employees, if required for carrying out necessary investigations.
  • Maintains a thorough awareness of international and local security standards and legislation, company's safety and security policies / procedures, keeps up to date with community's safety and security issues while remaining abreast of safety and security industry developments generally - including the development of new technologies.
  • Maintains a network of contacts within the security industry locally in Nigeria and also within the company's group.
  • Monitors the safety and security situation in the wider community and identifies potential security risks and takes steps to minimise those risks.
  • Maintains preparedness of the company's Evacuation and Business Continuity Plans and acts as the CSO.
  • Investigates safety, security, fraud and loss incidents in co-operation with relevant department, police and other government authorities as necessary.
  • Manages the activities of the Maersk Nigeria Limited's safety and security contractors to provide best possible services at the lowest practical cost.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience at Management level within a multinational company - preferably in the Shipping/Freight logistics industry
  • C with international standards (ISO) for Health, Safety, Security and Environment or similar national standards.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian national security standards and regulations
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Possess effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge and experience relating to the handling of dangerous good and emergency situations
  • Strong business writing skill to write comprehensive reports for both investigations and inspections
  • Requires the ability to remain calm, but be able to direct other in times of emergency
