Job Title: Laboratory SupervisorLocation: Lagos Job Description - Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for providing a variety of professional and laboratory works such as routine laboratory tests and clinical services amongst other clinical services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
- Recording and analysing data
- Demonstrating procedures as required
- Understand all aspects of clinical laboratory sciences and basic life sciences as well as laboratory support to
- medical systems supporting operations
- Collecting, preparing and/or testing samples
- Maintaining laboratory equipment
- Providing technical support when required
- Presenting laboratory test results to senior staff and management
- Assist in procurement of lab supplies
- Writing reports, reviews and summaries on experiments or trials
- Keeping up-to-date with relevant scientific and technical developments
- Supervising laboratory staff.
- Managing laboratories.
- Any other assigned duty.
Person SpecificationsAcademic Qualification - Minimum of a degree in Science Laboratory Technology/Industrial Chemistry/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Health Science.
Professional Qualification - Relevant professional qualification.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies is a plus.
Experience: - Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
Key Skills and Competencies - Experience in carrying out different laboratory experiments

Slot: 3 Job Description:
The Food Security Livelihoods (FSL) Supervisor will primarily be responsible for directly managing field assistants implementing food security and livelihood activities of the Improving food access and nutrition for vulnerable displaced and host population in Yobe State, in Northern Nigeria. This program aims to provide cash and/or vouchers to the IDPs and host communities to provide immediate access to food. Summary of Key Objectives: - Provide support to the FSL Deputy Program Manager to implement the program successfully, harmonizing and developing technical approach, and ensuring that the technical standards, guidelines and methodologies developed are applied.
- Supervise field project team within food security & livelihoods sector to ensure compliance, technical quality and coherence in all FSL interventions.
- Ensure tracking and reporting of technical activities under food security and livelihood sector.
- Participate in technical recruitment and training of the project field team.
- Provide support to FSL DPM and FSL PM to implement FSL strategy, and make recommendations for improving the project according to activity results.
Qualifications & Essential Skills - Degree in a food security related field e.g. Agronomics, Agriculture, Animal health, Agricultural engineering, Development Studies e.t.c
- Capacity to supervise a team
- Professional, good organizational capacity, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive
- Excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies
- Previous experience with food security and livelihoods programming.
- Three years relevant work experience
- Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word)
- Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
- Fluency in Hausa and English
- Commitment to ACF mission, values and policy
Preferred: - Previous experience managing cash based interventions (i.e. cash for work, cash transfers or cash vouchers)
- Previous team management and activity planning experience
- Good knowledge of the intervention area/s and local economy
- Previous experience with ACF
- Previous donor programming experience (e.g. USAID, ECHO, DFID, CIDA) and analytical capacity

To strengthen the capacity of the Local Government Area (LGA) nutrition focal person or team (as designated by the LGA) in management, delivery, and advocacy of cost-effective malnutrition prevention and treatment interventions (interventions include - Infant & Young Child Feeding, Community Management of Acute Malnutrition , Maternal & Child Health Weeks). Summary of Key Objectives - Support the assigned local government area (LGA) in Nutrition program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Support and coordinate micronutrient supplementation and MNCH Weeks
- Provide coordination and support to health office of LGA
- Strengthen technical and advocacy capacity at LGA level
Qualifications & Essential Skills - Bachelor of Science with a major in Nutrition or Bachelor of Nutrition ; graduate degree in a similar field a plus
- Health / Public Health / Nutrition / diploma or equivalent
- Experience of emergency nutrition work and the design and implementation of feeding programmes (ideally IYCF, CTC/CMAM), including IYCF monitoring and evaluation
- Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff
- Proven experience and ability in report writing
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathise with all beneficiaries and their carers
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions
- Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment
- Commitment to and understanding of ACF's aims, values and principles
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa
- Computer literacy and ability to work as part of a team
- Facilitation and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work under pressure of strict deadlines
Preferred - Experience in the setup of a IYCF program within CMAM program in an emergency context
- Experience working with partners, including the government
- Previous experience working with mothers support group and strong negotiation skill for behavior change
- Training in adult education/learning and effective training approaches
