Child Rights Situation Analysis for Education-Consultancy

 

Job Description
The proposed Situation analysis is to focus on the likely causes of poor quality of and inadequate access to education. The analysis will describe the current situation, examine the likely immediate and underlying causes of poor quality and inadequate access from the perspective of formal and informal education, and place the analysis within the context of gender, power and influence stall levels of the Nigerian society

Objective
The situation analysis will provide a review of relevant data collected within the last 10 years (2005-2014) on the education situation of children aged 0 to 18 years in Nigeria and place it within the context of children's rights to identify why those rights are not being achieved. The focus of the analysis is on access, equity and quality as an outcome.

Qualifications
    Advanced university degree in Education, Social Science or similar subject;
    Previous experience in development of analytical reports and policy documents related to Education;
    Significant research experience with proven record of publications;
    Ability to synthesize and analyze large amounts of information combining quantitative and qualitative data;
    Understanding and knowledge of the Nigeria social policy context;
    Excellent written English;
    Knowledge of a human rights based approach to programmes, and preferably experience with preparation of a Child Rights Situation Analysis is desirable

SMART Survey Consultant

 

Job Description
To assess the nutrition situation among children 6-59 months In Daura, Zango, Dutsi, Baure, Dan Musa and Bindawa LGAs of Katsina State

Objective
    To determine the prevalence of global and severe acute malnutrition among children aged 6 to 59 months;
    To estimate both under-five and crude retrospective death rates in the three months prior to the survey;
    To assess the recent morbidity patterns among children 6- 59 months;
    To establish immunization coverage for BCG, Measles and DPT 3 among children 6-59 months;
    To estimate coverage of key health services, including vitamin A supplementation, deworming. therapeutic treatment for SAM; To determine carers' knowledge and practice regarding infant and young child feeding;
    To establish the source of drinking water and water management at household level and presence and use of latrines;
    To carry out a comparative analysis of SAM, IYCE morbidities, etc in order to provide additional information on the likely causes of under-nutrition and barriers to optimal child health and nutrition practices In the area;
    To formulate and provide practical and sustainable intervention based on the survey findings to improve the nutrition status of the population.

Qualifications
    Degree in a field related to Statistics, Public Health Nutrition, Epidemiology or any other related discipline;
    Demonstrable experience in the implementation and management of or provision of technical support to nutrition programs (including Community- based Management of Acute Malnutrition);
    Prior capacity building/training experience essential;
    Proven ability to work independently;
    High level of English written and oral communication essential.

The timeframe for this consultancy is expected to be a total of 40 days.

    Identify and assess new and current funding partners' strategic priorities to ensure mission alignment with Save the Children Nigeria.

    Advanced university degree; previous experience in development of analytical reports and policy documents related to partnerships
    Ability to synthesize and analyze large amounts of information combining quantitative and qualitative data;
    Understanding and knowledge of the Nigeria context;
    Excellent written English; Knowledge of rights-based approach to programmes.

Role Purpose

Billing management
. Optimization of purchase orders for all accounts (MTN, Huawei, Airtel, Visafone, Etisalat, NSN, HIS, SWAP etc.)
. Billing reconciliations with client for all accounts
. Preparation, analysis, verification and endorsement of all client invoices
. Prevention of all forms of revenue leakages
. Timely submission of all client invoices

Payment Collection
. Follow-ups with client's finance for payment of due invoices (All accounts)
. Collection of remittance advise for all payments made to Linksoft by clients (All accounts)
. Reconciliation of client payments and Company's invoices (All accounts)

Contracts commercials management
. Analysis and verification of contract commercials figure in collaboration with business analyst and business development manager
. Attend business development meetings
. Advise management on business commercial viability

Reporting
. Weekly reporting of revenue generation status
. Weekly reporting of invoice closure status
. Weekly reporting payment collection status
. Management reporting of outstanding client invoices (Weekly)

Qualifications:
A degree in addition to +5 years experience in a similar position
