Editor Jan 15th 2013, 11:30 Location: Lagos Description: An Online magazine offering the practical tips on dating, secrets of love, celebrity biography, relationships, health , business best practices, women and entertainment needs the services of  bloggers and contributors to write on the above areas. Duties: Write fresh ,captivating and well researched articles Rewrite and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work. Acting as a point of contact with writers: assessing manuscripts, accepting/rejecting/editing liaising with writers during the editorial process and managing peer review for refereed articles Coming up with story ideas and commissioning articles that reflect current issues and trends in men's lives Structural editing and copyediting of articles to agreed style (short opinion pieces to long articles of 3000–4000 words) Proofreading articles prior to publication and making text changes to them as necessary Maintaining articles database, end of the month reporting on writers' performances and similar administrative duties. Custodian of the content guidelines/rules and responsible for helping writers' stick to them. Scheduling Work and Activities -- Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others. wold be responsible for the day to day management of the social media communities (share links as soon as published and create engagement on the social media platforms)  Skills/Qualifications: Minimum of a degree in a relevant field. Experience in using Wordpress CMS is a must. Candidate must be highly versatile and be able to identify high quality creative work, proofread and edit content. Attention to detail and outstanding writing and editorial skills Tertiary qualification in publishing/editing (or equivalent practical experience) Previous experience in online publishing using Wordpress(background in education or educational publishing, particularly English/media, would also be useful) Demonstrated knowledge of, and interest in general lifestyle issues High-level skills in identifying an article that will be a hit Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.
