Engineering manager Jan 17th 2013, 11:07 Location: Lagos Description: We are a a professional services company providing architecture, engineering, land and urban planning, interior design, and project management services. The principal firms have combined experience and expertise in the design of offshore and land-based living quaters and support buildings, office buildings, medical facilities, educational facilities, hospitality and retail facilities, single- and multi-family housing developments, and industrial facilities around the world. We seek to recruit suitable and qualified candidate for this position; Responsibilities: Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes. Qualificatios and Requirements Minimum of a university degree 15+ years experience in large complex Major Capital Projects and 5 years as Engineering Manger on capital projects. The successful candidate must have knowledge of capital projects and international experience.   Exercise a high degree of independence leading the team. Must be flexible, goal-oriented and have strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience working with multi-discipline project teams. Experience in managing cross discipline (Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Plumbing/Piping Engineers, and HVAC).  Experience in performing inter – discipline review. Familiarity with UK & American standards & Codes. Knowledge and understanding of specific codes, and industry standards and practices applicable to the design, construction, inspection, quality assurance, and installation in the Construction Industry. 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in Professional engineering design, QA\QC on drawings, plan review, and project administration experience. Must be COREN The Engineering Manager should have good experience in Construction Industry project Coordination and is responsible for all activities pertaining to design, construction and coordination / interface with other functional teams in Engineering area.   Knowledgeable and coordinating experience with Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC systems & the corresponding software.
