Project Control/Scheduling Engineer Jan 23rd 2013, 11:04 Location: Lagos Description: An engineering group of companies in Lagos requires the services of a qualified candidate for this position. Responsibilities: Awareness of Company's Quality Policy.  Develop plans and schedules with the project manager to meet project objectives through all the life cycles Prepares and managing master project schedule Jointly establish system for project monitoring with project engineering department and ensure that system is working correctly and continuously compare and monitor the anticipated progress. Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) according to the contract requirements. Jointly prepare a Budget and Cost Control Procedure and other administration procedure with project engineering department that meets the cost control input requirements of the contract. Prepare a valid overall project budget  Establish a cost reporting system according to the Specifications of the project  Attend meetings on project budget, cost and scheduling activities. Coordinate all subsequent activities with regard to cost control and scheduling. Review all estimates with regard to level of detail and standard required for the effec-tive control of the project  Prepare all required progress and close-out reports. Prepare a Schedule/ Planning Procedure that meets the Planning input requirements of the contract. Establish a Planning system according to the Specifications of the project. Identify current and anticipated critical target dates and inform project engineering department Jointly plan, analyze and review all changes/variations and their impact on milestones and the overall schedule, discuss results with the parties involved; implement changes into the schedule when approved by the Project Manager. Attend meetings on project planning and scheduling progress. Timely updating all project schedules based on structured project information gathering Co ordination of schedules from multiple contractors Merging approved client and/or contractor information into the overall project master schedules Highlighting planning and schedule related problem areas and recommending remedial actions. Evaluating critical paths in the project schedules and recommending on alternative schedule options. Participation in resolving planning and scheduling problems during project front and execution Other duties assigned Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of a Degree in a relevant field Minimum of 8 years experience. Experience in execution of EPC and PMC projects in an international environment.  Teamwork  Problem solving Excellent oral and written skills Extensive communication skills Computer literate and able to use MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project and Primavera excellently. Linguistic Skill – English Mandatory, French Advantageous.
