The Reckitt Benckiser  Nigeria Management Trainee Program is designed to intake fresh graduates and develop them as leaders for the future in the Marketing, Sales and Supply
Chain functions.

The program stretches over a period of one year in which selected graduates will be rotated in various technical job functions. The assignments are about real responsibility and real results, while creating an environment where Graduates develop through practical learning and coaching from senior managers. Selected graduates will initially be based at our office / factory site in Lagos & Agbara.

The Program is designed to develop future leaders from entry level positions and moving them to senior leadership in a period of 10 - 12 years. It supports our aim to grow a large percentage of tomorrow's top management from within the company. It is a structured program that puts graduates in the spotlight from Day 1. We offer distinctive development assignments each of which has specific on-the-job "learnings", which are combined with formal training courses. Each graduate will have exposure of working in Sales, Marketing, the factory site, finance & and with the regulatory affairs Team.

Withn-going evaluation of progress at various intervals, the graduate completes a standard assessment process with their line manager and is put on a mentoring program.

After a successful year of traineeship, Graduates would take on roles at RB Nigeria.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University from the then Anambra State University of Technology (ASUTECH) which was established by Law No. 7 of 30th July, 1980. With Decree

No. 34 of July, 1992 (now CAP. N139,LFN, 2004), the University was taken over by the Federal Government of Nigeria with financial effect from 1st  September, 1992

Vice Chancellor

Responsibilities

  •     The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University, ex-officio Chairman of the Senate and a member of the Governing Council.
  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall be competent at all times to advise the Council on any matter affecting the policy, finance and administration of the University;
  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall be generally responsible to the Council for maintaining the efficiency and good order of the University and for ensuring discipline and the proper enforcement of the statutes, ordinances and regulations of the University; and
  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall regulate admission of students, subject to guidelines and procedures approved by the Senate of the University.

Requirements

  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall a person of unassailable integrity
  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall be a Professor of at least SEVEN years standing who understands the contemporary demands of leadership of the University. He/She should have had a wide academic/administrative experience of at least 15 years in the University system and be capable of giving dynamic leadership to this University
  •     A person with high scholastic and academic credentials who must have outstanding accomplishments in academics and in public life generally
  •     A person who must command both national and international respect particularly in the academic world to enhance the good reputation of the University
  •     A person who is likely to command the respect and loyalty of members of staff, students and community neighbours of the University, and not likely to foster personal, racial, ethnic, political, religious or other sectional interests and must be free from financial embarrassment;
  •     A person of courage who can take decisions on the merit of facts and principles and not on the basis of pressures from individuals or groups
  •     A person who has the competencies to begin to reorientate the University mandate from a purely liberal to a more utilitarian mode; and
  •     A person who can maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability and who can forge the entire University community into a cohesive unit.

Terms and Conditions of Service
The salaries and conditions of service are as applicable to the post of Vice-Chancellor in Nigeria Federal Universities as determined by Government from time to time. The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a one-term period of five (5 nos.) years only. The candidate shall not be more than sixty five (65) years of age at the date of possible assumption of duty as Vice-Chancellor on 4th June, 2014.

Job Description

  •     The candidate must show innovative approaches to the running of an ICT-driven Bursary, working at the highest level of efficiency to eliminate time wasting, bureaucracy and fraud.
  •     The candidate must be found to possess the qualities of vision, proven academic direction, and managerial ability and must also command respect and arouse the cooperation and loyalty of staff and students of the university.
  •     The candidate should have ability to develop linkages with internal communities/bodies to support emerging needs of the university.

Job Description

  •     The Vice-Chancellor is the most senior administrative and academic officer of the University. He/She exercises general supervision and control and provides strategic direction and leadership.
  •     The Vice-Chancellor by virtue of his office is a member of the Governing Council and all statutory Committees of the Council. In addition, he/she chairs the Senate and other principal bodies chairs the university and nominates representatives to chair others.
  •     The Vice-Chancellor plays a principal role in securing and growing the financial base of the University. He works with the various bodies and authorities within the University, provide a stable and conducive atmosphere for running the university.

Tenure:

  •     The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a period of four years in the first instance and upon such term as shall, subject to the law and Statutes, determined by the Visitor thereafter.

Qualifications

  •     The candidate must have a Ph.D from a recognized University in a subject area taught in Benson idahosa University. And in addition, he must have good knowledge in Nigeria Educational Policy.
  •     The candidate should possess considerable administrative experience within the university system and must show demonstrable ability to attract funds to the University.
  •     The candidate must have been a Professor for not less than 10 years with an unbroken years service within the University system during the period.
  •     The candidate must demonstrate academic excellence in terms of quality publications, teaching, innovation, credible community service and proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  •     The candidate must be a person of courage and transparent honesty, who can take decision on the merit of facts, equity and patriotism and not on the basis of parochial interests or primordial pressures. Candidates should also be free from conflicts of interest.
