Job Title: Cashier

Location: Lagos

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers as they arrive at the store and provide them with information
  • Respond to customers' records and resolve their issues
  • Enter transactions in the cash register and provide customers with the total
  • Issue receipts and change to customers
  • Count money at the end and beginning of each shift
  • Process exchanges and refunds
  • Ensure that all checkout counters have enough cash
  • Process credit card and check payments
  • Issue stamps on contract
  • Perform the duties of sales representative when required
  • Maintain periodic reports and spreadsheets
  • Ensure management of daily cash accounts
  • Maintain periodic transaction reports
  • Ensure maintenance of check out areas
  • Resolve customer complaints in a proactive manner
  • Open and close deals
  • Train other staff members to work as cashiers
  • Maintain knowledge of store inventory and sales activities
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A minimum of BSc / HND
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations.
  • Extensive skill in using a computer with word processing.
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
  • An ideal person who will be well organized and calm to help make both workers and visitors feel at ease and welcomed once they cross the threshold of the company's office.
  • Candidates must be residing in Lagos and qualified candidates would receive reply within three days of application.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare supporting documents, reports, records etc for financial transactions.
  • Updating database of customers
  • Ensure that customers pay as and when due.
  • Liaising with customers as regards collections.
  • Invoicing of customers according to contract terms and promptly.
  • Ensure collections are made within the stipulated period.
  • Ensuring that WHT receipts are followed up and received promptly.
Competencies Required:

The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for an Executive Administrative Assistant. This position is a local one open to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.:

Job Title: Executive Administrative Assistant

Position Summary

  • The Executive Admin Assistant to the Dean is charged with the responsibility of providing high-level administrative support for the Dean in accordance with AUN Policies and Procedures, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions which include but are not limited to preparing correspondence, travels, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. The Executive Assistant shall also relieve the Dean of administrative detail by coordinating work flow within the department, setting up "tickler" system and setting up an "exception reporting" system to handle routine tasks without supervision. Also, the Executive Assistant shall routinely re-order office supplies.
Position Requirements
  1. A Bachelor's degree from a recognized tertiary institution; four years increasingly responsible office support/administrative experience OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  2. Knowledge of :
  • University policies and procedures affecting assigned work.
  • Office administration principles and practices.
  • Budgeting procedures and financial record keeping
  • Skill in English composition, grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and academic acumen.
  • Skill in compiling and presenting statistical information.
Other requirements, abilities for the position:
  • Energetic, dynamic personality
  • Ability to perform consistently under pressure and to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to represent the Dean's Office in a professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to receive and follow instruction.

  • Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and job classification as approved by the University.
