About this job

Job description

  • Oversee the Marine and Offshore Operations Business with its large fleet of vessels
  • Grow the fleet to three times its current size in 5 years through strategic contract acquisition and business expansion.  
  • Managing the day to day activities (support and operations) of the marine and offshore interests of the company and provide feedback to the Executive Director regarding technical operations, administration & logistics, and management of the marine fleet operations.  
  • Client services, crew management, technical, maintenance and commercial contracts management and ensure 90% availability of vessels and equipment.
  • Create Business development / Marketing materials where appropriate to support the Business development / Marketing activities.
  • Take responsibility for the design, operation, and improvement of the marine operations and systems 
  • Initiate, develop, implement and monitor relevant policies and procedures for conformity and compliance.
  • Ensure that Company Assets and staff are fully equipped with insurance, equipment, registration, licenses and communication tools required to fulfil their objectives. Develop and manage the divisionall budget including leading cost saving and revenue generation initiatives and innovative/ creative ideas.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master Mariner certifications will be a major advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of broad knowledge and experience of technical marine fleet operations, management, operation of commercial vessels, shipping agency activities, vessel husbanding, cost control.
  • A degree in business administration, marine operations or a related field will be an added advantage.

Job description

  • Executive responsibility for safe, efficient, and profitable operations in the sourcing, execution and completion of Civil and/or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering works
  • Lead the subsidiary in meeting its financial and operational goals.
  • Ensure the application of proper operational, technical and management controls and procedures, reporting, management resources, and functional support.
  • Developing and implementing the strategy, managed growth of the subsidiary and providing leadership to staff.
  • Coordinating and liaising with multi-disciplinary teams including project managers, Engineers, consultants & sub-contractors enabling speedy resolutions and final approval of all EPCI contracts.
  • Supervised the project progress and/or delays through letters which can be used as contractual
    aids during disputes
  • Facilitate budget analysis and budget variance study, cost control and project schedule tracking
    using Earned Value management techniques.
  • Managed EPCI - QC inspection schedules, attended site inspections and quality tests,
    recommended improvements in order to correct/repair site deficiencies, instrumental in the daily
    planning and administering of the quality assurance program.
  • Pro-actively coordinated and motivated EPCI subcontractors for the successful completion of
    project requirements and schedules demanding a clear understanding of HLG`s expectations.
  • Facilitate monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of cost to complete
    figures.
  • Manage the timely submission and successful closure of final Close-Out documentation.
  • Lead operational, project, and commercial management strategies, decision making, and implementation.
  • Customer Relationship Management and interfaces between operations and project management.
  • Ensure effective commercial and contractual management and negotiations with clients.
  • Lead and/or approve highest level dispute and commercial negotiations.
  • Ensure appropriate contract risk assessment and response during project bidding and execution. Lead claims, protests, and dispute resolution and oversee client negotiations.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • University degree (Civil/Structural Engineering ), a minimum of 15 years progressive management experience in EPCI contracts.
  • An MBA or International Business Management degree will be an added advantage
  • Project management experience of 10 years minimum is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Middle East construction industry( Residency In Dubai or Abu Dhabi will be an added advantage)
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse team of employees in various locations.
  • Sound business acumen.
  • Good knowledge of the business drivers in the Middle East region

Key Duties
The position holder will perform the following duties:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the warehouse including planning warehouse space, storage, scheduling of receipts and deliveries.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient stock holding to meet customers' demands and timely dispatch of goods to customers.
  • Ensure that delivery notes, invoices, stock records and actual stock levels tally at all times and that monthly and quarterly physical stock checks are done, reconciled, and discrepancies investigated.
  • Maintenance of high standards of housekeeping in the warehouse.
  • Ensure that stock is stored correctly in adherence to WHOs standards and other best practices.
  • Ensure that security arrangements are adequate and that procedures are followed to eliminate pilferage.
  • Prepare and submit monthly inventory Reports for all products and materials.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in ensuring that inventory at the regional warehouse is properly and accurately maintained.
  • Timely picking, packing and dispatch of goods to customers in accordance to distribution schedule for every cycle or quarter.
  • Ensure that cycle counts are carried out and records reconciled, and discrepancies if any investigated and reported within 8 hrs.
  • Ensure that security arrangements are adequate and that procedures are followed to eliminate pilferage and theft.
  • Prepare and submit monthly inventory Reports for all products and materials.
  • Direct and supervise all staff under charge.
  • Keep obsolete, short dated and expiries at a minimum and if possible eliminate their occurrence.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • University degree in Procurement and Supply Chain, Statistics, Economics or Business Administration or equivalent.
  • At least one year relevant experience in a busy warehouse or FMCG.
  • Knowledge of MS office applications.

Shell Approved Crew - Nigeria - DP MPSV - URGENT - Full Crew Needed

 

We are currently required for a Client who have an excellent opportunity for a number of crew members. The role will be joining in LAGOS, in Nigeria, and the contracts will be 6 weeks with the potential of extending to 8 weeks maximum, all candidate must be aware of this.

  • Must have Ship Security or Designated secruity Duties Certificate
